Gulf Extrusions was awarded the ISO/TS 16949 certification by Tuv Rheinland, a global leader in independent testing, inspection, and certification services, during a special ceremony held at The Address, Dubai Mall, and attended by Majid Al Ghurair, Managing Director, Gulf Extrusions Co. LLC, Modar Al Mekdad, General Manager, Gulf Extrusions Co. LLC, and representatives from the International Organization for Standardization (ISO).
Commenting on the certification, Majid Al Ghurair said, "This achievement is a strategic component in our commitment to provide top quality solutions for our customers. Gulf Extrusions is therefore well-positioned to meet the continued demand for aluminum from the global automotive markets."
ISO/TS 16949, developed by the International Automotive Task Force (IATF) in conjunction with the ISO, aligns existing automotive quality systems standards within the global automotive industry and aims to eliminate the need for multiple certifications to satisfy customer requirements.
ISO/TS 16949 is an industry-specific Quality Management System catering to automotive markets to promote continuous improvement, to emphasize defect prevention and to reduce waste and variation.

The IATF consists of an international group of vehicle manufacturers including BMW Group, Chrysler Group, Daimler AG, Fiat Group Automobile, Ford Motor Company, General Motors Company, PSA Peugeot Citroen, Renault SA and Volkswagen AG.
Gulf Extrusions, a part of the Al Ghurair Group produces aluminum extruded profiles ranging from architectural sections to components for air conditioning grills, furniture, marine applications, transportation, automotive, and customized products. It also extrudes products for several European customers and companies.
It recently became the first extrusion company in the GCC region to receive the Emirates Quality Mark certification from the Emirates Authority for Standardization and Metrology (ESMA).
